Blanfon usually arrives a SIS package that contains a GDR file. For example, one Blanfon variant drops the file Panic.gdr in the path C:\system\fonts.
GDR files are then Symbian OS Bitmap Font File. They contain a set of definitions that describe how fonts will appear in the phone’s text and displays. In the case of Blanfon, the fonts are defined to be transparent or blank, making all text strings, displays, and captions in the compromised phone disappear.
This Symbian Threat affects phones running the Symbian S60 platform. Some phones affected by this Virus include the following:

Manual Virus Removal Of Blanfon
To manually restore the phone’s fonts, it is necessary to copy a new GDR file into the path C:systemfonts. Once a new GDR file is installed, reboot the machine and delete the GDR file dropped by Blanfon.
